We’ve seen tons of advice about how to decorate your home for the holidays…but most of it is impractical.
We get that you don’t want to spend days setting the table.
So we picked the nine best decor ideas and broke them down by preparation time. You could spend a few hours DIYing, a few minute rearranging, or a few seconds buying from Amazon.com.
Make It (for the most ambitious)
Wreaths are a classic way to celebrate the season. These homemade examples look incredible (click each picture for a step-by-step guide from HGTV!)
Fill wine bottles with candles for an elegant look. The assembly here is easy, but first you need the empty wine bottles…
Hang something above the table. This is easiest if you have a chandelier with arms.
Arrange It (less work)
Taking a place setting from boring to oooh doesn’t require much work. Get some ribbon and make bows around the plates or the glasses.
Leave a basket of blankets near the couch for guests to get cozy after your nice meal. Napping optional.
Make a quick seasonal accent piece by throwing some fruit or holiday potpourri in a bowl. Glass bowls tend to have the nicest effect.
Buy It (click a button and unpack a box)
Keep your entryway under control (and your floors a little cleaner) with a shoe rack for guests. If you already have one, empty it so your guests can use it. Otherwise, set one up just for the occasion.
We like shopping on Etsy for holiday home decor. You never know what you’re going to find!
